The Language of Self-Love

You may have heard about “The 5 Love Languages®by Dr. Gary Chapman and may know that these five love languages include words of affirmation, acts of service, gifts, quality time and physical touch. A little newer on the scene are the Route of Safety offered by Jake Ernst which include; Inner Guidance, Structure & Certainty, Sensory Experiences, Quality Relationships, Protective Measures, Closeness & Proximity, Private Retreat, and Common Humanity. Already just by reading those words, you may feel an intuitive hit on which ones resonate with you and which ones you know speak to someone you know. But how much of this do you actually apply to yourself? Let’s explore the language of self-love.

Language of Self-Love

Embracing self-love can have profound effects on your overall well-being, relationships, and the way you navigate the world.

Some key aspects that define self-love encompass a wide range of traits and practices that helps you develop a positive and compassionate relationship with yourself. Self-love is about recognizing your own worth, embracing your strengths and weaknesses, and treating yourself with kindness, respect, and understanding. It also means you come to place of self-acceptance. When it comes to self-care, self-love involves taking care of your physical, emotional, and mental well-being. It means prioritizing activities that nourish and replenish you, such as engaging in hobbies, practicing self-care routines, setting boundaries, and making time for rest and relaxation.

Do you know what your primary love languages are? If not, you may like to take to first this quiz. Once you know what they are, consider how to speak to yourself in these love languages. What can you do on a daily basis to love yourself? Practicing these new habits will likely increase your self-worth and magnetize more of this kind of love into your life. This would also strengthen your energy field and you will radiate this love to others, and even help to raise the vibration of the planet by doing so. Yes, love has that much power!


Unlocking Your Full Potential: Embracing Personal Growth and Self-Love

Self-love includes a commitment to personal growth and self-improvement. It means pursuing your passions, setting goals that align with your values, and investing in your own development. Embracing growth allows you to expand your potential and create a fulfilling and meaningful life. 

Sometimes though, we are get so externally focused that we fail to recognize our own needs and desires. In fact, when we are more in tune with what’s going on outside of us or influenced by external factors, we lose sight of what’s going on inside of us. For this reason, it’s important to recognize self-denial.

Self-denial serves to protect you, your sense of control, and emotional state. It can seem like a natural response to stress. However, it also inhibits true deep connection to yourself and others.

Recognizing self-denial shines light on a maladaptive coping mechanism that appears to help us manage our insecurities, fear, or anxiety. Or perhaps even underlying shame. It can show up as false fronts, or as an attempt to control unwanted emotions.

Self-awareness is a journey of courage to notice what is going on within you in all levels of being. Such as, emotionally, physically, mentally and spiritually. It also involves getting to know yourself really, really well. That is, ALL parts of you. Even the ones you prefer not to see or consciously choose to keep hidden.

Those darker, shadowing parts need to be brought to light so they can either dissolve in it, or grow brighter from it.


Take the time to slow down, connect, and re-align with what best serves you and supports you in your self-love journey. Make yourself matter. You deserve love.
